  • Table of 9 consists of products of 9 when multiplied by other integers, it is a list with a structure.

  • The table of 9 has a pattern, and understanding it makes it easy to learn the table. Digits of the product at the one's place follow a pattern of decreasing, and the digits at the ten’s place follow an increasing pattern.

 

  • The digit sum trick, when the addition between digits is done, gives the result 9. For example, 9 x 6 = 54, when added together 5 + 4 = 9.

 

  • The finger trick can be used to learn and understand the table of 9. For example, 9 x 8 = 72. Number fingers 1 to 10 starting from the left hand. Fold the 8th finger. Count the folded fingers on the left for ten’s place, i.e.,7, and fingers on the right for one’s place, i.e.,2. Count the unfolded fingers and combine them, the answer will be 72.

 

  • Multiple can be multiplied by 10 and subtract the multiple from the product. For example, 9 x 7 = 63 can be done as 7 x 10 = 70 and 70 - 7 = 63.
